What is biobanking?

A biobank is a repository where DNA samples are stored and then used later for analyses using advanced technologies for research purposes.

Do I have to participate in biobanking?

Individuals who purchase the GenoPalate kit have the option to participate in biobanking their sample, but it is not mandatory.

What will I be asked to do if I enroll in biobanking?

As of now, you do not have to do anything. We have the isolated DNA from the sample you have provided. With your consent, these samples will be stored and can be used for analyses in the future.

Will I be charged for enrolling in biobanking with the GenoPalate laboratory?

No, biobanking your DNA sample is a free service offered to you by GenoPalate.

Where will you store my DNA samples?

We will securely store your DNA sample at our Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA)-certified and College of American Pathology (CAP)-accredited laboratory.

Do I have the option to withdraw from biobanking?

Yes, you can withdraw from biobanking your sample with the GenoPalate laboratory. There are no negative consequences for opting out.
